SUNDAY MORNING SERVICE

28th February

Hebrews

10:26-39

We encourage you to spend some time in prayer and ask God to speak to you this morning through his word.

Consider & Pray

Treasures in Heaven

19 “Do not store up for yourselves treasures on earth, where moth and rust destroy, and where thieves break in and steal. 20 But store up for yourselves treasures in heaven, where moth and rust do not destroy, and where thieves do not break in and steal. 21 For where your treasure is, there your heart will be also.

Jesus The Rescuer

Kids with Capes

Song to Start

Who is your favourite hero?

Is it a Marvel hero or are you a bit younger and like Fireman Sam, Chase or Skye?!

What is one of the best rescue stories you can remember?

Can you tell your mum and dad about it or act it out?

Which superhero would you like to be?

When people are being rescued they need to trust the hero!  They need to trust that the hero is strong enough, fast enough and brave enough to save them.

Imagine an episode of your favourite hero program - BUT the person who is about to be saved does not trust the hero, what would happen then?

We need to understand that if Jesus is to be our Superhero, we need to trust him FULLY - that He is BIG enough, STRONG enough and POWERFUL enough to make sure we will be safe. The hero stories that we know would not have happy endings if those who were being saved refused to go with the hero.

Jesus wants us to follow him and trust him completely with everything, pray as a family that you would all trust in the greatest hero that has ever been -  Jesus!

Activity Ideas

  • Can you draw a picture of your favourite hero, and then chat to your mum and dad about how much greater Jesus is.

  • Could you dress up as a superhero and act out a rescue, then talk about the how Jesus rescues us.
