SUNDAY MORNING SERVICE

7th February

Hebrews

9

We encourage you to spend some time in prayer and ask God to speak to you this morning through his word.

Consider & Pray

24 He himself bore our sins in his body on the tree, so that we might die to sins and live for righteousness; by his wounds you have been healed. 25 For you were like sheep going astray, but now you have returned to the Shepherd and Overseer of your souls.

1 Pe 2:24–25

If we believe in Jesus and we believe in Christ's completed work we are "healed", it can be so easy to lose sight of this glorious truth, especially when we slip and fall. What a great comfort we have been given to know peace with God. Pray that we would dwell on God's great love for us, live in the truth of it and share it with others.

Children's  Activities

How much can you remember from last week?

Song to Start

Activity 1 - Story-time - The Garden, the Curtain and the Cross

It would be good to revisit last week's story. If you have a copy of The Garden, The Curtain and The Cross then why not read it together, or you can watch the  video above.

The line that is repeated over and over again is “because of your sin you can’t come in”.

Think about how many boundaries there are around you; walls and doors, gates and fences. Some keep us safe, and some are there to keep us out .

The Bible tells us that it is our sin that is the boundary that separates us from God. But God sent Jesus to take that barrier away. That is why in the Bible, Jesus tells us that he is the gate and he is the way to God.

Activity 2 - Build a boundary

Can you draw, build or make a wall? Think about a boundary, and then can you make a door or a gate to get through. Maybe build a wall with pillows or make a small boundary or even build a tabernacle out of lego!
