LUKE 24 / Acts 1

19th APRIL

Questions To Consider

Past

1. What is it that Jesus has done in the past?

Present

2. What is he able to do in the present?

Future

3. What will he do in the future?

    What does this passage make us think about our own past, present, and future?

Children's  - Challenge

Challenge 1. -

Children's Song;

This week we'd like to challenge you to learn the song "Jesus Number 1" by Colin Buchanan. Here is a link to a YouTube video with the lyrics. Nick and Siobhan will send out a video with the actions via WhatsApp on Sunday morning. We'd love to see videos of you learning the actions as a family.

Challenge 2

Activity idea;

Hide and Seek: Think of something that is really precious to you as a family, or a treat that your family especially love, and play a game of hide and seek with this item. Then talk about how you feel when something is really special to you. You feel like you need to know where it is, and when you don't know where it is you get worried. Link to this week's Bible story, the disciples knew they would no longer be able to see Jesus - but they knew where he would be so they could still be happy.

We would love to see photos of your best best hiding places.

Challenge  3

Jesus is in heaven: Draw a picture of Jesus in Heaven. Talk about where Jesus went in this story, Ask the children "why were his friends happy when he left?" and ask each child, "why do you think it is great that Jesus is in heaven?"

Thoughts for Prayer

  • Praise God!

  • Thank him for his work on the cross and conquering the grave.

  • Thank him for his provision, loving-kindness and his many mercies.

  • The list for all those that need prayer at this time is big, but we know we have a God who is so much BIGGER (as we have been studying together)- bring all to him; from prime ministers to bin-men. All are vulnerable and all are valuable.

  • Those who are isolated and lonely, (care homes, hospitals & prisons)

  • Pray for faith and not fear as children of God

  • Opportunities for us to share the hope and security we have in Jesus.

  • Pray for peace in homes, towns, cities, and nations.

  • Pray for developing countries around the world who lack the infrastructure to cope with this pandemic.
